Trees, Shore and Sunset by B. Thompson

This is a oil on masonite from 1961 with two trees silhouetted by a fiery sunset. The painting absolutely glows with reds, oranges, yellows and pinks. Purple mountains define the distance. There is a wonderful surface to the paint with a nice impasto. A dramatic piece. It is signed B. Thompson. I've not been able to definitively identify the artist, but really like the look of the works. Take a look at the other seascape by this artist.
