Toward Wynnewood: Ca. 1927 by Jerome E. Kaplan

This information is from the label on the back of the print: "Toward Wynnewood: Ca. 1927," was produced for friends of Philadelphia College of Art by one of the nation's most distinguished printmakers, Jerome E. Kaplan, Professor and Director of the Printmaking Department of the College.
The intaglio print is part of a series called "Ardmore Reminiscences" which the artist has been working on for the past several years.
The edition, limited to 100, was printed on Rives BFK paper by Kathleen Raub, a senior printmaking major. There are 10 artist proofs with Roman numerals I to X which are the property of Professor Kaplan. The plate has been cancelled. The work was donated to the College by Professor Kaplan.
This is number 84 of the edition of 100. There is slight mat burn and some foxing in the margin, but the image is clean. It is a powerful abstract image that implies a road leading to some sparse trees.
