His education was completed in Paris at the Musee Nationale dArt Moderne. Richard Florsheim gained international recognition in the late 1930s when he first began exhibiting his art at such major institutions as the Salon des Refuses Paris, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Los Angeles County Museum and the San Francisco Museum of Art. During the following years his original prints and paintings were shown at numerous public galleries both in the United States and in Europe.

This is a black and white lithograph. It shows the typical tall perspective that Florsheim preferred. The sails and boats are reduced to white and dark triangles respectively. The crowding conveys the confusion and excitement associated with a sailing regatta. This was issued in 1979 in an edition of 200 by Associated American Artists. It is numbered in pencil lower left 196/200 and signed in pencil lower right.
