#8 by Ruth Leaf
This is a circular etching by the artist Ruth Leaf. It depicts a close-up of plants, possibly thistle or dandelion. It is not labeled with an edition size or as an artists proof. The edition size is unknown, but probably somewhere between 75 and 350, which are her usual edition sizes, although it could also be a trial proof. The etching is well-struck crisp. The paper is pristine. The image is 2 inches in diameter and the sheet is nearly square (dimension given above). It is unframed. An excellent example of her etching style. We acquired several of her etchings in a recent sale, so check out the others in the shop.

She was a member of a number of print and graphic art societies and was active in influential groups such as the National Society of Literature and the Arts, the Society of American Graphic Artists, and the National Association of Women Artists.
