The Pool of London by Edward J. Cherry
This is an etching by British/Canadian artist Edward J. Cherry. It is titled Pool of London. the focus of the piece is a tugboat cast in deep shadow. The quayside and skyline of London are depicted in great detail, including the dome of St. Paul's cathedral. The technique is incredible, with the finest detail being included. The light and shadow lends a fantastic mood to the piece. It is signed in pencil lower left. This is very typical of Cherry's work which favors detailed architectural cityscapes. The plate size is given above. The piece is framed without a mat and the framed size is 7.5 x 6.5 inches. The piece is in very good condition. It is well struck and richly inked. No fading, toning, staining, or paper damage is evident. A fine example of this artist's work.
